Values

Centre Church aims to help people centre their hearts and lives on God. We do this by focusing on 5 core values:

Growing

We believe that a healthy church should be growing in spiritual, emotional & experiential maturity (Ephesians 4:13-16) as we are encouraged and empowered to change by Jesus through the Holy Spirit. We see this as a growth in our depth but we also believe in growth in our width. This is a steady stream of people coming to faith in Jesus Christ, being saved from a lost eternity (John 3:16) and finding a spiritual family (1 Timothy 3:15) at Centre Church.

Gifts

We believe that a healthy church is comprised of many and varied gifts that reflect the endless creativity of our God (Romans 12:3-8). Each person who has come to faith in Jesus is a gift to the church (James 1:17,18) and our dream is that each one without partiality, (James 2) would find their sweet spot, doing exactly what God has created them to do. We believe that gifts don’t only function within the church but are also tools in God’s hands to reach a dying world with the message of hope that Jesus alone saves (Acts 8:4-8).

Generosity

We believe that generosity generates life, hope, love and momentum where none exist. Our simple acts of generosity of speech, time and resource to one another (John 13:35) and into our communities and sphere’s of influence create opportunities for the gospel of Jesus to find purchase (Acts 3:6).

Gathering

We believe in meeting together regularly as believers (Hebrews 10:25). There are three different expressions with three different primary purposes. We meet together on weekly on Sundays (Acts 5:42) primarily around the preaching of the word and the proclamation of the Gospel, we meet weekly in homes (Acts 5:42) which we call connect groups, primarily to share our lives and experiences and we meet once a month to pray corporately (Acts 4:31) and to enjoy an extended time of worship.

Going

We believe a healthy church should intrinsically consider itself a base that sends ministry out (Acts 13:2,3) to aid in planting churches, encouraging the saints and seeing the Gospel break into communities. We believe that we are blessed to be a blessing and so constantly strive to work with and build up other churches (Hebrews 10:24) in whatever country or continent the door opens up to.
